33 Weeks

How Far Along: 33 Weeks
Size of baby: Mason now weighs a little over 4 pounds. He's about 17 inches long from head to heel!
Weight Gain/Loss: 17 pounds, maybe 18 I just haven’t weighed this week.
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes now. My friend Tosca let me borrow some of her maternity clothes and she has some really cute short sleeved shirts. I was able to wear 2 of them this week because the weather has been so nice. She had a really cute pair of jean capris that I’m looking forward to wearing this weekend!
Gender: It's a BOY!! Mason Carter Mitchell
Movement: Mason is moving so much these days. I bet he spends about ½ the day moving around. Most of his movements are a smooth rolling sensation. However, every once in a while he gives me a good kick and it can be a little painful! Several days this week, I’ve been able to tell that his back is on my right side and his arms and legs are on the left side. It’s pretty cool when I can feel his boney little feet/elbows/fits moving around in there!
Food Cravings: Still loving french fries and spaghetti, nothing new.
What I miss: The only thing I can think that I miss right now is sleeping on my back.
Sleep: My hips become very sore after a few hours of sleep. I have to switch the side I’m laying on about once an hour. I’ve also started having bad acid reflux/heartburn at night. My nighttime bathroom trips have returned. Every night this weeks I’ve gotten up about 1:00 am.
Symptoms: A few Braxton Hicks contractions, acid reflux/heartburn, and muscle soreness in my upper abdomen.
Best Moment this week: Mason has had the hiccups twice this week. I was beginning to think that he wasn’t going to get them. His hiccups are faster than mine and not as strong. I think that they make him mad because when he has them he moves a whole lot!
What I am looking forward to: We are taking a tour of the maternity floor of the hospital this Sunday afternoon. We’re getting close to d-day!

32 Weeks

How Far Along: 32 Weeks
Size of baby: Mason now weighs 3.75 pounds. He's about 16.7 inches long from head to heel! It’s amazing to think that he fits so perfectly into my round little belly.
Weight Gain/Loss: 17 pounds, steady at 1 pound per week.
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes now. I’ve been able to wear some of my short sleeved maternity shirts this week because we are having such nice weather. It’s been a nice change!
Gender: It's a BOY!! Mason Carter Mitchell
Movement: Mason is moving so much these days. I bet he spends about ½ the day moving around. His movements seem to be more fluid and smooth now instead of kicks. However, there are still times when I get a sudden kick in the side!
Food Cravings: I could still eat french fries with every meal. But, if you know me I’ve always been this way! I love french fries!! So, I’m not sure if we can really call it a “pregnancy craving”. I also could eat spaghetti several times a week!
What I miss: The only thing I can think that I miss right now is sleeping on my back.
Sleep: My hips become very sore after a few hours of sleep. I have to switch the side I’m laying on about once an hour. I’ve also started having bad acid reflux/heartburn at night.
Symptoms: A few Braxton Hicks contractions, acid reflux/heartburn, and muscle soreness in my upper abdomen.
Best Moment this week: I had another doctor’s appointment this week. I ended up having them 2 weeks in a row due to the reschedule because of the snow last week. So, once again my favorite part of the week has been hearing Mason’s heartbeat at the Doctor’s appointment. It was around 150 bpm again this time.
What I am looking forward to: My Baby Shower this weekend! From what the hostesses will tell me, it is going to be really cute with plenty of baseball decorations! Also, Fonda, Jeanie, Brianna and their boys are coming down for the weekend to come to the shower. That means a lot that they would spend their whole weekend here to celebrate with us. I’m thinking it’s going to be a wonderful weekend!!

31 weeks

How Far Along: 31 Weeks
Size of baby: Mason now weighs 3.3 pounds. He's over 16 inches long from head to heel!
Weight Gain/Loss: 16 pounds
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes now. They are so comfy, but I do find that I have to wear the same thing over and over.
Gender: It's a BOY!! Mason Carter Mitchell
Movement: Mason is moving so much these days. I bet he spends about ½ the day moving around. This morning I could feel his back poking out to one side. It was about the size of my hand. So neat to be able to feel how big he is.
I also found out at my appointment this week that I’m anemic and need to iron pills and try to eat more iron rich foods. Another thing was that I was borderline on failing my glucose test, so they suggested that I also watch my sweets. Just some minor adjustments, at least it’s all temporary.
Best Moment this week: Getting to hear Mason’s heartbeat at the Doctor’s appointment. It was around 150 bpm. We also got my baby shower invitations mailed out. The invitations turned out so nice! I was really impressed.
What I am looking forward to: My Birthday on Sunday, 2/13! Scotty gives me a hard time about my family acting like our Birthday’s are like National Holidays. But, we just like to celebrate!

A little shopping for Mason

Yesterday we went to the Mall for a little shopping. This is what we came home with! It all started when I told Scotty that I wanted to show him a few cute outfits that they had at JCPenny, and then we just made a day of it. We had so much fun picking out the little outfits, now I just can't wait for Mason to be here and be big enough to wear these things. We learned really quick today that there just isn't near the selection for boys as there is for girls, especially the shoes! At Old Navy there were about 10-15 pairs of baby girl shoes to pick from and just 1 for boys! However, Scotty and I decided that was just as well. Mason will mostly just need a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of boots. Boys are simple like that!

When I put this shirt on this week my first thought was that it had shrunk. I hadn't wore it in several weeks and I can definitely feel the difference! After giving it a little thought it sunk it that the shirt hadn't shrunk, I've just grown!....well really "we" have grown! Since the growth is so gradual most of the time I don't really notice it, but when you have something like this as a "measure" it's pretty neat to see the difference.

30 weeks

How Far Along: 30 Weeks
Size of baby: Mason now weighs almost 3 pounds. He's about15.7 inches long from head to heel!
Weight Gain/Loss: 15 pounds
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes now!
Gender: It's a BOY!! Mason Carter Mitchell
Movement: Mason is moving so much these days. On Sunday (1/30) night Scotty was able to feel Mason really moving around. I was laying on my side and Mason was pushing up. It was like he would stick out his arm and move it around, not just a kick. Scotty thought he was turning flips at first. Scotty decided that Mason was giving him a high five or painting his "room".
Food Cravings: I think I finally had my first crazy pregnancy craving. While at work yesterday afternoon I had a sudden craving for Frosted Flakes cereal. I could just taste the cereal in my mouth with the cold milk! I managed to make it through the day without making a run to the store for cereal, but I sure did want it at the time!
What I miss: The only thing I can think that I miss right now is sleeping on my back.
Sleep: My hips become very sore after a few hours of sleep. I have to switch the side I’m laying on about once an hour. Also, some acid reflux/ heartburn when I lay down. I've been having some strange dreams too. I dreamed that Mason was here and I suddenly realized that I hadn't fed him yet. I tried to breastfeed him, but I had waited too long and my milk had dried up. I was not a good mommy!
Symptoms: Muscle soreness in my upper abdomen and acid reflux/heartburn. Other than that I'm feeling really good!!
Best Moment this week: SNOW!! It snowed early this morning and has been snowing off and on all day long. I got all dressed and ready for work, but when Scotty got back to the house after picking Rusty up from work he suggested that I just stay home. The roads were worse than he expected and he didn't want to risk us getting stuck or in an accident. So, me and the girls (Molly, Abby, & Emma) are enjoying a lazy snow day at home together.
What I am looking forward to: I would say my Doctor's appointment tomorrow, but I'm planning to call and re-schedule it. It's not worth getting out in this nasty weather! So, I'll say still looking forward to my Baby Shower on Feb 19th!

29 weeks

How Far Along: 29 Weeks
Size of baby: Mason now weight 2 1/2 pounds. He's over15 inches long from head to heel!
Weight Gain/Loss: 15 pounds
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes now. One of my favorite maternity shirts has even gotten a little small. I put the shirt on this weekend and it is almost too short for my liking now. I guess that's what happens when you have a big "summy" to cover up!
Gender: It's a BOY!! Mason Carter Mitchell
Movement: Mason is moving about 1/2 of the day. I really enjoy just sitting and watching him move. I'm easily amused, so this could probably keep me occupied for hours if I had nothing else to do!
Food Cravings: Still want to eat french fries and spaghetti all the time!
What I miss: The only thing I can think that I miss right now is sleeping on my back.
Sleep: My hips become very sore after a few hours of sleep. I have to switch the side I’m laying on about once an hour. I've also starting having acid reflux/heartburn when I first lay down at night. Yuck!
Symptoms: Mainly just muscle pains in my upper abdomen after very much (or sometimes very little) activity that uses my upper body strength. Also having some Braxton Hicks contractions. All in all I'm feeling really good these days and enjoying being pregnant.
Best Moment this week: Scotty and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend! I'm coming to realize that we won't have much more relaxing weekends just to ourselves.
What I am looking forward to: My Baby Shower on Feb 19th
